Welcome to the Gift of Hope

This is an organization that helps students who have lost a parent or guardian during their high school career. It was started last year when a student lost their parent after a long and hard battle with a horrible illness. This student feared that they would not be able to continue on to the college that they had wished to attend. Three other students experienced this same tragic loss, and they also feared that due to the situation college was out of reach. The Gift of Hope was created, put together and made happen with in the last five weeks 2006-2007 school year. We raised almost $4,000. Each student was able to receive $900. This was made possible through the continued donations of many people. Also a raffle was held at the senior barbeque where the Gift of Hope raffled off a car wash, free pizzas and other great items donated by local companies. Just through the efforts of the students, the Gift of Hope raised a little over 200 dollars. This upcoming year we would like to continue to support the students through fundraisers and with our local support of the community.
